The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and the West Central Region Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC) will host a virtual event to provide small businesses an opportunity to increase their knowledge on the Department’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, how to approach lending and secure a surety bond during a pandemic, and receive updates on the Small Business Administration’s (SBA)’s pandemic economic resources.

Activities include panels where small businesses will hear from experts within the DOT and other Federal agencies to engage in discussions focusing on strategies for successfully doing business during a pandemic. Event participants will have an opportunity to:

  • Learn how the pandemic has impacted the DBE program and goals for next year
  • Receive updates on SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDIL)
  • Learn strategies to successfully obtain capital and secure bonding during the pandemic
