CDOT Region 4 Curb Ramp ESB Restricted Projects Planned for June 2018

15-Dec-2017 to 09-Feb-2018

CDOT Region 4 has a total of 4,699 curb ramps and only 1,020 are "functionally accessible" based upon recent ADA standards and a statewide inspection conducted by CDOT. Along with other regions across the state, Region 4 is taking aggressive steps to upgrade these curb ramps as part of CDOT's Statewide Curb Ramp Accessibility Program. In June, 2018, Region 4 will advertise two of these projects for bidding by ESB certified firms only. One is in Loveland with ramps on US 287 and US 34.

The other is in Greeley with ramps on US 34, US 85, and US 85 Business. There is expected to be between 30 and 50 ramps for each project. ESB certified firms with experience in concrete and curb and gutter should keep an eye on the CDOT Bidding web page for these opportunities. Firms not yet certified can review eligibility rules and find a link to a mandatory Orientation and the online application on the CDOT Civil Rights & Business Resource Center web page. You can also find ADA resources and information about the proposed guidelines for accessbility right-of-ways (PROWAG) on the CDOT ADA web page.
