CDOT Region 5 Contractors Learn About 2015 Project Opportunities

05-Feb-2015 to 05-Feb-2015

Adverse weather conditions didn't stop contractors in the Durango area from finding out about the projects CDOT has planned for 2015. Although schools were closed and a foot of snow fell overnight, more than 45 people attended an informational session on January 13. DBE's were invited to a workshop on CDOT online systems and were given tips on what it takes to be a prime contractor. Both prime and sub contractors were then privy to details about various CDOT and municipal projects coming up this year across southwest Colorado.

Ed Archuletta, CDOT Resident Engineer, let contractors know that CDOT Region 5 has spent more than $45 million per year for the past five years on construction projects. RAMP funding for local agency projects has contributed even more to the amount of work being done in the region. The CDOT team provided information on 17 construction projects planned for summer/fall, 4 traffic and safety projects, and another 14 local agency projects.
