CDOT Soliciting Innovative Ideas for Applied Research

18-Oct-2018 to 05-Dec-2018

The CDOT Division of Transportation Development (DTD) Applied Research and Innovation Branch (ARIB) is soliciting research projects problem statements. A problem statement is a short form describing a transportation problem and/or potential innovation proposed for detailed study.

Note: This is NOT a process to apply for research funds. This is an effort to solicit comprehensive transportation-related research ideas. The research ideas will be selected, prioritized, and funded by the RIC. Once an idea is funded, a CDOT study panel will develop a final scope of work. Then universities and/or consultants will be asked to submit financial proposals to the appropriate Oversight Teams. For approved projects, funds will be available for encumbrance in October of 2019. Research ideas are being solicited in the following areas: Structures, Hydraulics, Soils, and Geotechnical.

  • Environmental, Sustainability, and Water Quality
  • Safety, Operations, and Planning
  • Pavements and Materials
  • Additional uncategorized research topics and ideas
